Computer Integrated Manufacturing and Industry 4.0: From Vision to Smart Factories

The lecture gives a presentation on the concepts behind the integrated manufacturing systems using CIM computing tools as well as the vision of the Industry 4.0 concept for the development of future Smart Factory factories. The material presents the way in which the activities within a company are integrated through the information flow using numerically controlled machine systems. Automation and digitization of the company leads to the increasing of production flexibility and reactivity. Examples of projects realized by the Faculty of Engineering of ULBS with other research centres or companies, presented by the team coordinated by prof.dr.ing. Ioan Bondrea
